CLINIC TEST – WHICH TOOTHPASTE TABLETS ARE BEST?

This week we put Dr Denti Toothpaste Tablets to the ultimate test, a showdown in an active dental clinic against a well-known alternative brand to determine which toothpaste tablets are the best.

In our recent series on toothpaste tablets, we’ve explained why they’re better than paste and why Dr Denti Toothpaste Tablets are the best brand out there for your teeth. To prove our claim, we asked a dentist to film a short video comparing the tablets to see which brand performs best in the key categories of Fizz, Foam & Fluoride.

Setting up the test

As you can see in the screenshot above, we have two identical test tubes half-filled with tap water. Dr Denti will be competing on the left against a rival brand on the right. The tablets themselves look pretty similar but it’s all change once they come into contact with the water…

Five seconds in the water

It’s time for fizz! Dr Denti tablets are designed to fizz with a tingly-fresh mint flavour on contact with water or saliva. The released microbubbles immediately begins to disrupt the bacteria in the mouth, working on the same principle as the ultrasonic cleaning tools used by professional dental hygienists. Giving the tubes a quick shake

To simulate brushing, our dentist popped a thumb over each tube and gave them a good shake. Our Dr Denti tablets then started to break up and the fizz kicked into its second stage, a rich, rapidly expanding foam. In the mouth this foam penetrates the hard-to-reach spaces between teeth and below the gum line with the bursting micro-bubble formula dislodging plaque and bacteria. Meanwhile the comparison tablets have started to slowly dissolve in the water, here’s what happens if they’re given a bit more time…

Thirty seconds after shaking

As you can see the non-foaming brand on the right has formed a thin slurry typical of many toothpaste tablets. This watery mixture makes it difficult to clean teeth without dribbling and making a mess. By contrast, the foaming action of the Dr Denti Tablets continues to intensify, enhancing the cleaning effect and providing the user with a familiar minty clean experience.
